What Will Happen On My First Visit?
Your first visit will last about one hour. The doctor and his assistant will take an in-depth medical and dental history, perform a thorough periodontal examination and take any necessary digital x-rays. For a dental implant consultation, Dr. Wetzler may recommend a 3D cone beam x-ray to evaluate bone volume. Dr. Wetzler will measure for bone loss, loose teeth, bite analysis, oral cancer screening, TMJ and other signs of periodontal disease. He will carefully explain the nature of your condition, your treatment options and their benefits. We are committed to providing the most conservative, state of the art and comfortable treatment available.
Please assist us at the time of your initial visit to the office by providing the following information:
- Your referral slip (if you have one) and x-rays from your referring dentist (if available).
- A list of medications you are currently taking (please note that you can fill out your patient registration and medical history form on our website.)
- If you have dental insurance coverage, please bring any forms or identification cards with you to the appointment.
Please Note: All patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation appointment.
Please notify the office if you have a medical condition or concern (e.g. artificial heart valves or joints, heart murmurs requiring pre-medication, severe diabetes, or hypertension).
