Insurance Information

Our office manager, Elaine, deals with many dental insurance coverage providers. Some companies offer many different dental benefit plans. These companies can change benefits, co-pays, maximums and deductibles many times throughout the year. We do our best to provide you with accurate coverage estimates based on information available to us.  Many dental companies will not give out fees until after the treatment is completed. As a courtesy, we ask that you keep us informed of any change to your coverage. It is important that we keep all information current.

We will gladly file your claims on your behalf.

Please keep in mind that most dental policies are very limited and often only pay for a portion of the procedure(s) that may need to be performed.

Please call our office for any questions dealing with dental benefits Evan S. Wetzler, DDS office Phone Number 914-245-1550.

How Dental Plans Work

Almost all dental plans are the result of a contract between your employer and an insurance company. The amount your plan pays is agreed upon by your employer with the insurer. Your dental coverage is not based on what you need or what your dentist recommends. It is based on how much your employer pays into the plan. Employers generally choose to cover some, but not all, of employees’ dental costs. Although you may be tempted to decide on your dental care based on what insurance will pay, always remember that your health is the most important thing. If you are not satisfied with the coverage provided by your insurance, let your employer know.

Co-Payment

We would be happy to file for a Pre-Determination for you for the treatment that Dr. Wetzler recommends before the service is rendered. When Dr. Wetzler does perform the treatment, we ask that you pay your co-pay or out-of-pocket responsibility at that appointment.

Private & Group Insurance

As a courtesy to our patients with dental benefit plans, we will submit necessary claim forms, receipts and other information to your dental coverage company.

Upon receipt of a dental benefit payment, any balance due will be billed to you. If you have deposited an excessive co-payment, it will be refunded to you.

A partial list of dental companies that we participate with include:

  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • Delta
  • Guardian
  • MetLife
